And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers." 1 John 3:16

News from Mrs. Schulz

Preschool and Kindergarten

  1. Parents, this Friday, October 19th, we will be working at painting our Art Fair t-shirts. Please send your child in old play clothes for the very messy job of splatter painting. Please also send in the $5 fee to cover the cost of this fun project. Thank you.

  2. Remember that our October field trip permission form and fee are due this Friday, October 19th.

  3. Next week Wednesday, October 24th, is our Art Fair. Remember, we are still looking for helpers to assist in a variety of ways on Wednesday. If you can help, let us know. Preschoolers, be present by 10:30 and do not forget to bring your lunch on this day.

News from Miss Kroening

  1. First grade, please note that your first spelling test will be next Friday, October 26th. Your words are included on the regular spelling/hymn verse sheet.

  2. Our first field trip is Wednesday, October 31st. We will be visiting the Christiana Fire House. Look for a permission slip and more details next week, but check your calendars now to see if you are available to drive!

  3. Permission slip and t-shirt fee for Art Fair and Soccer Day were due this past Monday. If you have not yet turned yours in, please do so as soon as possible. If you turned in your form but not your fee, please send in your $5. (If you're not sure what you have sent in, check with me. :)

News from Mr. Monday

Grades 5-8

  1. Our class sings and plays tone chimes in the early service this Sunday, October 21st. Students need to arrive by 7:40.

  2. Another reminder about outside reading books. Each student needs to complete two novels outside of our classroom reading class by the end of the quarter on October 31st. This is less than two weeks away, and over half the class has not completed their first book. Check with your child to see what they are working on, and help them find time to complete the necessary reading.

  3. Thank you to those who have volunteered to drive next Wednesday for Soccer Day. We now have enough drivers to transport our students. We are also in need of "soccer coach" or "referee" volunteers as well. It is an easy and fun thing to do. One parent has bravely volunteered already:. Let Mr. Monday know if you are interested.

News for the Whole School

  1. Remember that the permission form for Art Fair (K-2) or Soccer Day (3-8) was due this past Monday. Thanks to those who have already turned theirs in!

  2. Mark your calendars for Friday, October 26th. We will be having a Reformation Costume Party here at school from 6:30-8:30. (Reformation is a celebration of the doctrinal reform of the church that Martin Luther set into motion on October 31st, 1517.) This party is in place of a Halloween party and will feature fun, games, and food. Come dressed in an appropriate costume and enjoy the evening! An evening like this takes lots of helpers. If you are able to bring some refreshments or are willing to help run one of the games for a 30-minute session, please see the sign-up sheet on the table in the hallway.

  3. Grandparents' Day will be here before we know it. Please see the attached sheet for more information and to send in grandparents' addresses.

  4. Remember our weekly mission offering each Friday during chapel. Our first semester contributions are helping spread God's Word in Czech Republic. Please use the small gold envelope attached to this Wednesday Note for your child to give an offering of thanksgiving to God.
