News from Miss Kroening

Grades 1-4

  1. Please note that the November Memory Treasures Calendar is attached today.

  2. Remember that all students have a science test tomorrow, October 28th. Please use the study guide that your child has to help him or her review!

News from Mr. Monday

Grades 5-8

  1. Congratulations to Michael, Rebecca, and Amanda for winning the first quarter AR competition. The second quarter competition has not yet officially started, but all upper graders should still be reading (especially for the Battle of the Books).

  2. 7th and 8th graders should be well started on their novel projects in connection with The Hobbit, our new Reading class novel. Students should be working on these mini-projects at home. If you need any project supplies, please check with me.

  3. We thank Michael, Matthew, and Christen for their Word of God hymn presentation yesterday. We look forward to seeing it again on Grandparents' Day.

News for the Whole School

  1. All children sing in this Sunday's 11:00 service. Please have your student arrive no later than 10:40. As you know, there are fewer students to draw from this year, so it is very important to have all students present so that the Gospel message can be clearly proclaimed and heard!

  2. Please contact Mr. Monday if you are interested in purchasing a class picture from Lifetouch. Each student is scheduled to receive a school photo with his picture order.

  3. The M. family has generously volunteered to host this year's Reformation Party. If you enjoy fun, games, and prizes, this is the place for you! The costume party will be held Saturday afternoon, October 31st, from 2:00-4:00 at the M.'s house, a very short distance from school. This should allow plenty of time to return home if you wish to trick-or-treat in your neighborhood. Please note: the M.'s are cat owners, so if you are allergic to cats, be sure to take an allergen blocker! Thank you in advance to the M. family!

  4. Look for report cards this Friday, October 30th.

  5. Please note that there is no school next Friday, November 6th, as the teachers attend a continuing education class.

  6. From the Cottmans: We wish to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who came to our wedding. What a joy and blessing it was to have so many of you there! Thank you for taking time to be a part of our special day.

  7. Thank the Lord that St. John's Lutheran School will remain open next year! Please also keep the teachers and their families in your prayers as Mrs. Cottman prayerfully considers teaching in a new situation, and Mr. Monday eagerly looks forward to knowing where the Lord will lead him next.
