And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers." 1 John 3:16
News from Mrs. Schulz
Preschool and Kindergarten
- I will be letting you know if your field trip for this Friday, November 16th, will occur. All the permission forms and fee were already due, and as it stands now, we only have one driver.
News from Miss Kroening
Grades 1-4
- Thank you to the few of you who were able to send in paper towels for our classroom. This really is a supply that we use daily to help keep our desks clean and healthy, so if you have not had a chance to send in a roll or two, please do so. If you would prefer to just send in a few dollars and have me purchase them, that would work great, too! Thanks!
- Our class sings in the 11:00 service this Sunday, November 18th, at St. John's. Children should arrive by 10:40 to warm up their voices together. If you know you are unable to attend, please let me know before Sunday.
- The same hymn was inadvertently sent home two weeks in a row. The hymn for this Friday, November 16th, is attached today. There is no new hymn or spelling unit for next week due to the short week.
News from Mr. Monday
Grades 5-8
- Book orders went home last week. They are due back next Friday, November 16th. Any checks can be made payable to: Scholastic Book Orders. If you order from more than one catalog, a single payment can be made.
- 5th and 6th grade Science students have selected an experiment from our textbook. These experiments should be done at home and are due on Wednesday, November 21st. They will present them for Grandparents' Day. Please assist your child in completing these projects.
- Please keep your child up to date on their second quarter "outside reading". Beginning early will benefit them greatly.
- Be on the lookout for a permission slip about our next field trip in the near future. We will be visiting the Air Mobility Command Museum at Dover Air Force Base on Wednesday, December 12th. Please help us as a chaperone/driver if you can.
News for the Whole School
- You still have a little time to send in your Grandparents' Day address sheet and still have invitations sent home. Grandparents' Day is next Wednesday, November 21st. It is a great opportunity for the students to show their grandparents their school and spend a little extra time together. If your grandparents are able to attend, please remind them to r.s.v.p. directly to the school so that we have an accurate count for the day. Thanks!
- An envelope was sent home last week regarding the Grandparents' Day hot lunch. A lot of time and effort goes into making this lunch the best of the year. We do not want to put grandparents on the spot, so we do not "charge" for this hot lunch; however, kindly consider a donation per person who will be enjoying this delicious meal that day. Thanks!
- Picture make-up/retake day is Monday, November 19th. Life Touch has now sent us a new set of picture forms, so you will find those attached today. If your child was ill on the original Picture Day, you should use this picture order form to order on the 19th. We have not yet received your child's picture packages yet, but their little proofs have arrived. We have attached one to your note today to help you determine if you would like retakes. We will also be taking a whole school picture that day.
- Please note the permission form for Christmas caroling is attached today. We need numerous chaperones for this whole school event. Check you schedule and see if you can join us!
- Fall weather seems to have arrived. Please remember that unless it is raining, we do spend our recesses outside, so send along appropriate cool weather items. As it turns cold, hats, mittens, and a winter coat will be important! If there is snow on the ground, children need boots to play in the grass area of our playground.
