News from Mrs. Schulz
Preschool and Kindergarten
- As you know, our Christmas Service will be on Friday, December 21st, at 6:00 p.m. Following the service refreshments will be served. This year our preschool and kindergarten families will be responsible for supplying the cookies and/or bars and drinks. If each family would supply at least a dozen cookies/bars or a container of red fruit juice, your help would be appreciated. You may bring these items by next Friday, December 21st. Thank you!
- Do not forget, also, that our "Happy Birthday, Jesus" party needs list will be available this Friday, December 14th.

News from Mr. Monday
Grades 5-8
- Thank you to Mr. Bertelsen, Mr. Buetterich, Mr. Hartman, Mr. Berry, and Mr. Johnson for driving for our field trip today. We appreciate your help!
- Parents, thank you for practicing the Christmas service parts with your child. Remember that your child should still recite the indicated part to you every evening that the sheet lists. Please also keep on signing their Christmas service sheet. It has hopefully been a joy in sharing the Word of God with them in your home. Bringing up a child in the Word of God is pleasing to our Lord and Savior. May He continue to bless your family with His Word.

News for the Whole School
- The season of Advent is here! St. John's will be celebrating the season of Advent with special Wednesday evening services the next two Wednesdays. Come, join us for a soup and sandwich supper beginning at 5:30 and the worship service at 7:00. Take time out of this often hectic season and prayerfully prepare your hearts for the coming of our Savior!
- There is a short children's Christmas service rehearsal scheduled for this Sunday, December 16th. Its purpose is to rehearse "Tiny King", our toughest song, with the choir and Sunday School participants. Those who do not normally attend our church are not expected to attend but would certainly be welcome. Those who are members of St. John's, please make every effort to stay after Sunday School a few minutes at 10:30 to make this rehearsal beneficial to all. Thank you!
- Grades 3-8, we have not yet received final details (departure time, schedule, etc.) about the Spelling Bee that will be held in Falls Church, VA, on Wednesday, January 16th. A permission slip with details will be sent home once that information arrives. However, parents, please check your calendars now and see if you might be able to chaperone, and students, keep looking over the word lists sent home a few weeks ago.
- Please note that the December edition of the Box Tops Newsletter is attached today.
