News from Miss Kroening

Grades 1-4

  1. Third graders should now be working on their second Battle of the Books novel. Remember, these books are for a school competition that is coming up at the beginning of third quarter!

News from Mr. Monday

Grades 5-8

  1. I just wanted to say thank you to the 7th and 8th grade students for their hard work on the Hobbit projects.

  2. Christmas Service recitations will begin this coming Sunday. Our class will have recitations to say at home to parents or older siblings every night. Please plan time in the evening to hear their parts in preparation for our worship service.

  3. We took a break from Geography tests this week. Next week will be back to the regular Thursday test schedule.

  4. Three of our classmates have a Hymn Study Powerpoint Presentation due on Tuesday, December 15th. Please check with your child to see if he or she has preparations to make.

  5. Getting an AR test done before Christmas is a great plan! That would leave only one more book for after Christmas. Keep up the good reading.

News for the Whole School

  1. A big thanks to all who helped make Grandparents' Day and its delicious meal a success. Great planning, Mrs. Ravitz and Mrs. Wheatley!

  2. Please see the attached permission form regarding our caroling trip next week. Please note that it is due this Friday, December 4th. Please also recall that this caroling trip is part of an early dismissal day. Be sure to arrange for the early pick up if you are not able to come along for the caroling!

  3. Rainy day recesses and P.E. classes - what fun they are, especially for teachers who wish the students could get outside and run off some energy! If anyone knows of or happens to have an extra copy of an exercise video that the students would even marginally enjoy :, the teachers would be grateful if you would let them know.

  4. Please note that the hot lunch "month" order forms for both December and January are attached today.

  5. Please plan in advance for our Children's Christmas Service AND the final practice on Sunday, December 20th starting at 9:00 a.m. It is necessary for everyone to attend this final practice since it will be the only time that both the school and church Sunday school students will practice jointly. The actual Christmas service is Wednesday, December 23rd at 6:30 p.m. Please remember that the children are presenting God's Word in a worship setting, but not as a show. We request that families and guests refrain from using flash photography during the service. We encourage photos before and after the service. Thank you for passing this along to family and friends in attendance.
