Preschool and Kindergarten

  1. Remember that we leave for our field trip tomorrow morning at 7:00 a.m. Please be present by 6:45 a.m. We plan to return to St. John's between 4:30 and 5:00.

Grades 1-4

  1. Thanks to our chaperones to the library last week. Your help is always appreciated!
     
  2. Game Day is here! Please remember that we depart at 7:00 a.m.!
     
  3. Book orders went home last week. They are due back this Friday, February 22nd. Any checks can be made out to: Scholastic Books.
     
  4. Fine Arts Night is this Friday, February 22nd. The evening begins at 7:00 p.m. Children should be present a few minutes beforehand. Please send in your child's costume on Friday morning so that we can use it during our dress rehearsal that afternoon. We need a few fishing nets, either large or small, for our hunters to carry. If you have one that we could use, please send it in.
     
  5. Our class is in charge of providing treats after Fine Arts Night. If you have not yet had a chance to sign up and would like to contribute to the goodies following the event, please stop by the classroom to see the master list. Thanks!
     
  6. Science Fair information went home last week for the 3rd and 4th graders. Please note the list of checkpoint dates that is included. The first is this Monday, February 25th. The packet does not apply to the 1st and 2nd graders since they will be working on experiments in class to present at the Science Fair.
     
  7. 1st and 2nd graders have a Social Studies test next Thursday, February 28th.

Grades 5-8

  1. Our classroom is quickly running out of tissues. Please send in another box to get us through the cold season. Thanks.
     
  2. Congratulations to our second quarter honor roll students! On honor roll: ("B" average in all subjects, no grades below C-) Matthew Berry, James Bertelsen, Brianna Cunningham, Alyssa Eastburn, Jennifer Knosky, Katy Wheatley. Earning high honors: ("A" average in all subjects, no grades below a B-) Mariah Eastburn, Morgan Gilbert, Amanda Hohler, Sven Johnson. If you were on honor roll first quarter, please find a gold star attached to add to your certificate. I appreciate the hard work by everyone in our class. Keep it up!
     
  3. Students have selected their Fine Arts Day/Night pieces that they will perform on Friday, February 22nd. These pieces include: story reading, poetry reading, musical performance, and demonstration. This fun night helps students learn to publicly speak or perform. Please help your child prepare for this event by practicing their pieces with them. They should practice every night. They have been instructed to bring their performance item(s) to school on Friday.
     
  4. The first Science Fair checkpoint is due next Monday, February 25th. Please check your packet for requirements.

News for the Whole School

  1. Tonight is a continuation of the Lenten season during which we contemplate the suffering that Jesus went through to free us of our sins. Please join us for the special worship service tonight at St. John's at 7:00 p.m. There is also a soup and sandwich supper beginning at 5:30 which is handy if you find it difficult to get home, find some dinner, and still arrive to church on time. We look forward to seeing you!

  3. Re-enrollment packets for the 2008-09 school year went home today. Please review all information inside. Registration forms are included, and all fees are explained. Sign-up for next year early to receive a great free gift!
