News from Miss Kroening
Grades 1-4
- 100th Day is this Friday, February 8th. Each student needs to bring in 100 of something; however, those 100 "somethings" need to fit into a gallon size Ziploc bag. Some examples of items your child might bring are 100 buttons, 100 noodles, 100 beads, 100 stickers, or my favorite because the whole class could use it: 100 pencils. : Use your imagination!
- Our class will be using milk jugs to make our Valentine's Day card holder. Please send one in by Friday, February 8th. If you do not have one available by then, just let me know. We have a few spares available.
- Please see the attached permission form for our trip to the library next Friday, February 15th. Please note again: your child needs to have a library card in advance if they would like to check out any books.
- I know a lot of information is attached today. Please be sure to read and sign all three permission forms by this Friday! Thank you!
News from Mr. Monday
Grades 5-8
- Our class sings tonight for the special Ash Wednesday service at 7:00 p.m. The children have been working very hard on a special rendition of "Glory Be to Jesus". We really need to have all their voices present to make the song work. I am looking forward to hearing their praises to our Savior!
- Our 8th graders will be participating in the NAEP testing on Friday morning from 9:00 to 10:30. Notification was sent home several months ago. Any 8th grade families with questions should contact Mr. Monday.

News for the Whole School
- Today is a special day in the Christian church year. It is Ash Wednesday. This marks the beginning of the Lenten season during which we contemplate the suffering that Jesus went through to free us of our sins. Please join us for the special worship service tonight at St. John's at 7:00 p.m. There is also a soup and sandwich supper beginning at 5:30 which is handy if you find it difficult to get home, find some dinner, and still arrive to church on time. We look forward to seeing you!
- Game day permission forms are attached today. If you have multiple students, please note that there are two different forms, one for grades K-2 and one for grades 3-8. We have many students to transport, so please consider driving for this event.
- This year we are having a special school-wide Valentine's party. Please see the attached permission form for your child to travel to Christiana Skating Rink for this event. Please also note the special instructions about Valentine's treats due to the location of the party.
- Several lost and found items (mostly clothing) are out for perusal on the table in the hallway. Please check them over to see if your student has misplaced anything. And, of course, if something does not belong to your child, please explain to them that "lost and found" is not actually "take what you like." Thanks!
