News from Miss Kroening
Grades 1-4
- We are planning to do an art project involving dyed eggshells when we come back from Easter vacation. If you will be consuming any eggs that have been dyed, please wash the shell pieces (washing is very important - we all know what rotten eggs smell like! :) and let them dry on a paper towel. They can then be sent into school in a Ziploc bag. Thank you for your help!
- Remember that the next Science Fair checkpoint is due shortly after Easter vacation. Please consult your packet for details.
- Please note that the new book report information is attached today.
- The April Memory Treasures calendar is also attached today.
News from Mr. Monday
Grades 5-8
- Science Fair checkpoints are all currently on time! Your next checkpoint does not include anything to hand in. It simply states that you should START THE EXPERIMENTING. Your vacation should provide plenty of opportunities to get much of it completed.
- Many students have made progress on their outside reading novels, but several have at least one more book to complete. Please make sure your child works diligently on this over Easter vacation. The quarter ends on Friday of the week that we return to school.

News for the Whole School
- The upcoming weekend is a very special weekend in the church year. We celebrate the institution of the Lord's Supper on Maundy Thursday. We remember our Savior's death on Good Friday, and we revel in His glorious resurrection on Easter Sunday. St. John's has special worship services for each of these occasions: Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m., Friday evening at 7:00 p.m., and Easter Sunday morning at 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Please join us!

- Thanks to all for your beautiful praises this past Sunday! They were a wonderful addition to the worship service.
- The voters of St. John's met recently to extend a call for our new preschool and kindergarten teacher. After prayerful deliberation over a list of qualified candidates, they were led to call Miss Michelle Steffenhagen. She currently teaches grades 1 and 2 at Lord and Savior Lutheran School in Crystal Lake, Illinois. Please keep her in your prayers as she prayerfully considers where she can best serve our Lord: at her current call or the call to St. John's. We will hear back from her with her decision in a few weeks.
- Please see the attached information regarding our field trip to the Kimmel Center to see the play Wizard of Oz.
