News from Mrs. Schulz

Preschool and Kindergarten

  1. Parents, please check your child's preschool and kindergarten calendars for our upcoming school events. In particular, our "Easter Party Needs" list will be available on Friday, March 14th. If you would consider signing this list to help provide party food and paper products for our party, your help would be appreciated.

News from Miss Kroening

Grades 1-4

  1. Thanks to all who provided props, costumes and treats for Fine Arts Night. It went well!

  2. We have reached 100 classroom points! That means that tomorrow, Thursday, March 6th, is pajama day. Your child may come dressed in his or her pajamas and slippers, but please be sure they are appropriate. Please also think ahead and send appropriate footwear as recess will be outside as usual. Thanks!

News from Mr. Monday

Grades 5-8

  1. Our classroom is quickly running out of tissues. Please send in another box to get us through the cold season. Thanks to those who already have!

  2. The second Science Fair checkpoint was due today. If your child has not completed this checkpoint or the first one (Feb. 25), their project is NOT allowed to continue until they catch up. If your child is late on either checkpoint, please see the attached note on their assignment notebook.

  3. All MOUSE projects (Math posters) are due this Friday. I have announced this date everyday for the last week.

  4. 5-6 Science book experiments are due during the week of March 17-20. This is not connected to their Science Fair project. This is a quarterly item. Please check your child's assignment notebook for specific date.

  5. Due to numerous class projects (see above), our AR book totals are currently very low. Please plan your time wisely in the upcoming weeks (including Easter Break) to complete this quarterly project. Each student needs to complete two novels as usual.

News for the Whole School

  1. Tonight is a continuation of the Lenten season during which we contemplate the suffering that Jesus went through to free us of our sins. Please join us for the special worship service tonight at St. John's at 7:00 p.m. There is also a soup and sandwich supper beginning at 5:30 which is handy if you find it difficult to get home, find some dinner, and still arrive to church on time. We look forward to seeing you!

  2. Thank you to Mrs. Ravitz and Mrs. Cotter for providing today's hot lunch.

  3. It's already on the school calendar, so double check it's on your family calendar: all classes sing in the 11:00 service on Sunday, March 16th, for Palm Sunday. If you know you will not be able to attend, please have the courtesy to let your child's teacher know.

  4. A few weeks ago, many of you received a re-enrollment packet concerning the 2008-09 school year. If you have not done so yet, please take the time to look through it and discuss it with your family. We at St. John's Lutheran School make it our lives to serve families with God's Word. We greatly desire to do that again for you next year. Also, please note the free school supplies coupon for next year expires on March 20th.
