And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers." 1 John 3:16
News from Mrs. Schulz
Preschool and Kindergarten
- Do not forget that this Friday, April 11th, is our field trip to the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia. Preschoolers, please be present by 10:30 a.m. We will be leaving shortly thereafter at 10:45. Parents, do not forget to leave your child's car seat or booster seat. Thank you.
- Remember that there is no school on Monday, April 14th, due to our Teacher Visitation Day.
News from Miss Kroening
Grades 1-4
- If you have not already signed up for a parent teacher conference, please do so now.
- Please remember that book reports are due this Friday, April 11th.
- 3rd and 4th graders, the next Science Fair checkpoint is also due this Friday, April 11th. The students have known for quite a while that both your written report for the Science Fair and your book report are due this Friday. If you haven't started working ahead yet, tonight would be a great time to start! :
- Our class is the third quarter Box Tops race winner! Our prize is a trip to the movies. However, we are still awaiting show times on the movie, so watch for a permission slip later this week. We are hoping to attend Horton Hears a Who in the middle of next week.
- We will be taking a field trip to Winterthur on Tuesday, April 29th. I will be sending home a permission slip next week, but I wanted to give you the date now so that you could check to see if you are available to drive.
- It appears that we will be getting a class pet! The students actually fulfilled all the criteria I gave them to show they were ready to take on the responsibility of a hamster. This is a just a little notice to say that the hamster will indeed be a CLASS pet, not Miss Kroening's pet, so he will be a member of our class as long as the students continue to show the ability to care for a pet.
News from Mr. Monday
Grades 5-8
- The next Science Fair checkpoint is this Friday, April 11th.
- Report cards come home this Friday, April 11th, followed by parent teacher conferences the next week. Conferences serve as a great opportunity to look at your child's progress to this point. If you have already signed up for a conference time, a confirmation slip is attached today. If you have not yet signed up, please do so now. Feel free to stop by our classroom to check out the master list if you would like to know which time slots remain available.
- A tone chimes permission form went home last week and is due back this Friday, April 11th. Thanks to those who have already sent theirs in!
- For the last few years, our school has published a simple yearbook that is produced by the students. If you think your student may be interested in being on the yearbook staff this year, see the attached permission form.
News for the Whole School
- A permission slip regarding our whole school field trip to the Kimmel Center to see the play Wizard of Oz was sent home before Easter. It is due tomorrow, Thursday, April 2nd. This field trip will take up the majority of the school day for all classrooms. Students must be in attendance for the school day and the play. We have a few drivers, but still need more. Check your schedule and see if you can help out while enjoying a fun performance. We still have a few students in need of a ride and a few permission slips that have not been returned. Please return yours now if you have not done so already. Thanks!
- Just a reminder: there is no school this coming Monday, April 14th, for Teacher Visitation Day. This is a day designed for our teachers to go visit various other classrooms and gather ideas for use in their own rooms.
- We have already reenrolled several families for the 2008-2009 school year. If you have not already sent in a reenrollment form, please make your intentions known at parent teacher conferences this next week. Having this information as early as possible greatly aides in the planning process for next year!
- Keep watching your speeds as you enter the parking lot to pick your child after school. What seems a safe speed to you may be a little quick for cars attempting to back out. Thanks!
