News from Mrs. Schulz

Preschool and Kindergarten

  1. Remember this Friday, May 9th, is our Field Day in Largo, MD. Do not forget to leave car seats, please. We should leave St. John's by approximately 6:45 a.m. and should return between 4:30-5:00 p.m. Preschool will not be in session on this day.
     
  2. Next week, Tuesday, May 13th, is a half day of school due to our Teacher In-Service. Dismissal is at 11:30 a.m. Kindergarten families, please take note of this so that you may pick up your child at 11:30 a.m. Thank you.
     
  3. Do not forget that your child's Herr's Factory permission form and lunch fee are due next week, Friday, May 16th.

Grades 1-4

  1. The last book orders of the year went home today. They are due back next Thursday, May 15th. Any checks can be made payable to: Scholastic Book Orders.

News from Mr. Monday

Grades 5-8

  1. Remember this Friday, May 9th, is our Field Day in Largo, MD. We should leave St. John's by approximately 6:45 a.m. and should return between 4:30-5:00 p.m.
     
  2. Our classroom currently contains a baby bottle that is intended to collect spare change for New Beginnings (see below to learn more about New Beginnings). Any change gathered in the bottle will be matched by an outside group as part of a project that St. John's participates in. The bottle will be turned in on Mother's Day, so if your child wishes to bring in a few coins, please do so now!
     
  3. Interested in some books for summer reading? The last book orders of the year went home today. They are due back next Thursday, May 15th. Any checks can be made payable to: Scholastic Book Orders.
     
  4. Believe it or not, there are only a few weeks left in 4th quarter. Check with your child to be sure he or she is working on outside novels. Most students have at least one more book to read!
     

News for the Whole School

  1. Please see the attached information regarding Field Day. Please note the schedule of events on the backside. Notice that there are no specific start times for events. The events simply start at the completion of the previous event. In the event of a postponement due to weather this Friday, all families will be notified Thursday evening. The rain date is Friday, May 16th. If Field Day is postponed, there will be school as usual on Friday.
     
  2. Re-enrollment packets for the 2008-09 school year went home about two months ago. Thank you to those who have already re-enrolled or who have declared their intentions to re-enroll. Please continue praying for St. John's in the upcoming year. Sign-up soon to receive a great free gift!
     
  3. Next Tuesday, May 13th, is the last of our early dismissal days this year. Please be sure to arrange for your child to be picked up at 11:30!
     
  4. Are you interested in literature ranging from devotional material to novels to children's books, all of a Christian nature? Check out the book fair display in the entry of the school. (You may have to lean around displaced furniture due to the church being painted.) If you find something you would like to order, let Mrs. Monday know!
