News from Miss Kroening
Grades 1-4
- Our classroom is in need of a few magazines to restock our basket. We cut pictures out of these magazines occasionally for various class assignments. If you have any magazines that you are ready to toss, send them our way. Thanks!
News from Mr. Monday
Grades 5-8
- Our first AR teams are posted. Please encourage your child to faithfully compete in our outside reading book competition.
- Remember that I am offering massive bonus points for reading books that are part of our Battle of the Books event in March. Battle of the Books selections will earn the reader double AR points, tests on these books that score at least 90% will receive triple AR points, and 100% scores will receive quadruple AR points! Let's get reading and get ready for the Battle of the Books.
- Starting after Labor Day, our class will have their Geography tests on Thursdays instead of Wednesdays. This change will allow our class to join Miss K's class in choir (for a better sound) and PE (for more exciting games).
- For 6th to 8th graders: Pastor Schulz will be starting his Wednesday and Friday Catechism class on Wednesday, September 9th. This is different from our Monday and Thursday Word of God class.
News for the Whole School
- On Friday, October 2nd, Mr. Monday will be taking our entire school on a field trip. We will be participating in a Science exploration program in
the morning and visiting our state capitol building in the afternoon. Look for more details in future Wednesday Notes. Please speak to Mr. Monday if you are interested in driving.
- ATTENTION: we are changing the dates of the Terra Nova testing week to the following week - September 28th to October 1st. Please make the change on your school calendars.
- Thanks to Mrs. Heath, you can now cash in your empty Capri Sun pouches! That's right, each pouch, regardless of brand name, is worth 2¢ to our school. That can certainly add up quickly if your child is a regular juice drinker! All you have to do is remove the straw and flatten them out (do not cut them). When you have a bagful you want to get rid of, pass them along to Mrs. Heath. Thanks, Mrs. Heath!
- Thank you to Mr. Tom Hohler for repainting our outside doors a delicious chocolate brown! Their new paint job looks great!
