ENROLLMENT CRITERIA
In order for a new elementary student to enroll at St. John's Lutheran School, the student must have successfully completed the previous grade level. Reception of school records from his/her previous school is a regular part of the enrollment process, but it is not neces-sarily required before we consider enrollment completed.
Open House
Our annual Open House will take place on Monday, March 22, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday, March 23, 2010 from 8-11 a.m. All families interested are welcome and encour-aged to attend to view our school and ask questions.
Orientation Sunday:
Please keep a lookout for information concerning our Orientation Sunday in August. This is an afternoon session that introduces all families to our new school year. Important health forms, schedules, and other needed information are a central part to Orientation Sunday. We also use it as a way for students to mingle with peers and parents to talk with teachers one more time before school gets under way for the year.
Adult Information Class:
All new families who are not members of St. John's Lutheran Church must attend an Adult Information Class with Pastor Schulz. The purpose of this class is to provide new parents with an overview of what we teach children who attend our school. The class will consist of three one-hour informational sessions, and must be completed during the child's first year of enrollment.
Registration & Book Fees:
There are two fees required to secure a place in our school (Registration Fee and Book Fee). The Registration & Book Fees will be used to purchase supplies and materials for the up-coming school year as well as enroll families in SMART Tuition Services for tuition collection. The School Fees should be paid to St. John's Lutheran School. Please note that only part of the School Fees may be refundable. Only enrollment decisions made by St. John's will result in refunded fees. ALL families must pay the Registration & Book Fees before a spot for the desired class will be held.
Refer to Tuition Rates and Fees for rates.
REGISTRATION FORM
A Registration Form must be completed for each child enrolled. The School Fees should ac-company the Registration Form and be given to the Principal.
See Enrollment forms.
SMART TUITION ENROLLMENT FORM
All families, even those re-enrolling, must complete a SMART Tuition Enrollment Form, which must accompany the Registration Form.
See Enrollment forms.
TUITION PAYMENTS
The annual tuition amount will be collected in ten (10) monthly payments beginning in Au-gust and ending in May. All tuition payments are due by the 10th of the month. School families will send their monthly tuition payments to SMART Tuition Management Services unless the tuition balance is paid before July 10th.
MEMBERS' DISCOUNT
Members of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church who enroll their child(ren) at our school are granted a discount off the regular annual tuition amount.
Refer to Tuition Rates and Fees for details.
MULTI-STUDENT DISCOUNT
Those families who wish to enroll more than one child at St. John's Lutheran School are granted multi-student discounts per each additional student.
Refer to Tuition Rates and Fees for details.
TRANSPORTATION ALLOWANCE
The State of Delaware offers parents who transport their children (K-8) to a private school a Transportation Allowance. The amount of this allowance varies from year to year depending on the number of parents who apply statewide. Upon enrollment, eligible families will be given the necessary paperwork to apply for this Transportation Allowance. This paperwork must be returned to the Principal as soon as possible.
